Who believes in you?

moonwithclouds 150x150 Who believes in you?Who will be encouraged today because of what you say or do?  Came by a quote attributed to Abraham Lincoln that reads "I'm a success today because I had a friend who believed in me and I didn't have the heart to let him down."  Don't get me wrong, regardless of whether or not Lincoln really coined the phrase doesn't matter to me.  The thought is true.  The words beg me to reflect on who believed in me and how did I respond?  And then even better who am I believing in today so that I am building life in someone else?

My wife, Dee Dee is the biggest cheerleader in my life.  Embracing rejection in the real estate business is part of the job.  There are times when money is low and so are my spirits.  You get so excited when a contract comes together and then flattened when a deal falls apart...

Coal Mining Community in Tennessee River Gorge

Shake Rag was a community in Mullins Cove, Tennessee in the late 1800's.  The community was born by the efforts of the McNabb mining company.  The mining company owned the area as well as the coal mines near the top of the mountain.  The mines produced 1,100 tons of coal in 1892.

McNabb Mining Company

The McNabb Mining Compay flew a white flag near the river that attracted steam boats.  The community became know as ShakeRag.  Legend also has it that  residents flaged down passing steam boats with "rags" to hop a ride into Chattanooga.  Regardless of the correct story this piece of Mullins Cove history can still be seen today.  Remains of the buildings are visible today, as the picture above is the front wall of the school house.
